Privacy policy
Effective date: 2 October 2026
This policy explains how the GridOff mobile app ("GridOff", "the app") and this website handle information. GridOff is designed to work offline: almost everything you do in the app stays on your device.
Who we are
GridOff is published by:
CUSTOMISED CLOUD d.o.o.
Pleternička 1, 31000 Osijek, Croatia
VAT ID: HR55752957606
Email: contact@customisedcloud.hr
We are the controller for the limited data described below.
The short version
- No account, no ads and no third-party tracking or advertising tools.
- Your progress, checklists, emergency contacts and settings are stored only on your device.
- You can choose to share anonymous usage statistics. They never include your name, contacts, phone numbers, location or anything you type.
- Location is used only on your device, only when you ask, and is never sent to us.
Data stored only on your device
The following stays on your phone and is never sent to us:
- Your progress: topics you marked, review dates, practice results, daily drills and streaks.
- Checklists, including ticked items, household size and any custom items you add.
- Your personal emergency contacts (names and phone numbers).
- Your settings, such as language, selected country and reminder time.
Deleting the app removes this data from your device. Because we never receive it, we cannot restore it for you.
Anonymous usage statistics
To learn which guides, tools and features are useful to the community, GridOff can send anonymous usage statistics to servers operated by us. This is switched on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy. When you turn it off, statistics that have not been sent yet are deleted from your device and nothing further is collected.
The statistics contain:
| What | Example |
|---|---|
| A random installation ID, created when the app is first started. It is not linked to your device's hardware or advertising IDs and changes if you reinstall the app. | a1b2c3d4-… |
| App version, build number and platform | 1.0.0, Android |
| Which features and topics you open and use, with a time stamp | "Evacuation guide opened", "SOS signal used for 40 seconds", "practice finished, 7 of 10" |
| Choices made in the app | a topic marked as "review", the country selected for emergency numbers, the category of a contact you added (for example "family") |
The statistics never include contact names or phone numbers, the text of custom checklist items, your location or GPS coordinates, or any other text you enter. We do not store your IP address together with the statistics.
We use the statistics only to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We do not sell them, share them with third parties for their own purposes, or use them for advertising. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the app (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object at any time by switching the setting off. We keep the statistics for as long as they are useful for improving the app, and no longer than 24 months.
Location
On the Emergency screen you can ask GridOff to suggest your country from your location, so it can show the right emergency numbers. Only then does the app ask for location permission. Your position is converted into a country on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. If usage statistics are on, only the selected country code (for example "HR") may be included.
Notifications
Daily reminders and checklist reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push notification server and do not receive a notification token. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings or in your phone's settings.
Other device features
The torch, SOS, beacon and siren tools use your phone's flashlight and speaker on the device only. When you call an emergency number or one of your contacts, GridOff opens your phone app; we do not see or record your calls.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or third-party fonts and scripts. Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify visitors.
Children
GridOff is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because usage statistics are anonymous and linked only to a random installation ID, we usually cannot tell which statistics belong to you. The simplest way to stop all collection is to switch off usage statistics in the app. For any privacy question or request, email contact@customisedcloud.hr.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian data protection authority, Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka (AZOP), azop.hr, or with the supervisory authority in your own EU country.
Changes to this policy
If we change how GridOff handles data, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
